Great read - personally I was all about building up the number of grounds I’d been to, but since I started my Substack, I want to write about all the grounds I’ve been to in order, which makes me hesitant to tick off new ones (though I will be doing it, no question).
I was at Wimbledon’s Plough Lane yesterday for a rugby league match and used the opportunity to grab some more photos for when I eventually do write about that ground, and also a day at the football (or sport of your choosing) is better than a day doing anything else I reckon!
I would love to get down to Plough Lane one day. One of our regular writers Alex sometimes does commentary for the Rugby team that play their home games at Plough Lane.
Yeah it's a great ground! At first glance it looks like any old tin shed with some flats around it, but there's more and more art and memorabilia popping up and the pub inside the ground is really nice. The greek food truck they have at Broncos games is excellent (maybe AFC Wimbledon too, not sure).
I won a London Broncos season ticket in a raffle at a pre-season game which I've unfortunately only been able to use once, but I love getting down there for my rugby league fix every now and then
Sounds great, mate, love that there is a pub inside the ground. Congrats on winning the season ticket. Hopefully, you can get to a few more games before the season ends.
Love being on the Scaffold.
I hope to get to the women’s cup game at Hastings in October, hoping it will last longer than the 20 minutes of their last Cup Final.
